Trek to Ratti Gali Lake in Neelum Valley Kashmir

After 2.5 hours drive on a jeep, you will reach the base camp area. The base camp itself is a marvel of its own. Afterward, it takes almost 1-hour trekking from the base camp to the famous Ratti Gali Lake. It gets glaciers around so cold in summers even. The bluish water is surrounded by glaciers almost all year. Complementing the spellbinding beauty of this lake, locals popularly call it the “Jewel of Neelum Valley”.

How to visit Ratti Gali Lake?

Ratti Gali Lake is a beautiful freshwater lake located in the Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir,Pakistan. The lake is accessible by jeep from Kel via Kazinag National Park. Ratti Gali Lake can also be reached by a 6 kilometer hike from Dawar, the last village in Kel. The best time to visit Ratti Gali Lake is from June to September. During this time, the weather is pleasant and the lake is full of water. Private cars are not allowed beyond Kel, so visitors must either walk or take a jeep to reach the lake. There is a small Tourist Bungalow at the lake which can be booked in advance for overnight stays. The bungalow has a restaurant that serves simple Pakistan cuisine. There are also a few tents available for rent. Ratti Gali Lake is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the incredible views of the surrounding mountains.
